Mindscape VR is a virtual reality and brain-computer interface interactive exhibit that was built for the Cognitive Technology Exhibit at the Exploratorium Museum in San Francisco.

This collaboration was between the Cognitive Technology Group, an incubator for brain technology and research, and m0xy, an East Oakland–based industrial arts incubator. Museum Visitors interacted with a collection of exhibits that combines neuroscience, art and design to make the invisible work of the brain perceptible. The special exhibit ran for little over a month, with thousands of visitors attending the experience.

I'm one of three individuals that conceived and designed Mindscape VR, arguably the first implementation of Brain-computer interface and virtual reality experienced in a public setting. At the time, hand controllers did not exist for VR, so we prototyped an experience using the Muse headset and the Oculus Development Kit 2, where museum goers lift rocks with their mind, ala Star Wars style. I was responsible for implementing and optimizing for Virtual Reality.
